After an initial career as a fashion editor, Sander opened her first boutique in Hamburg at the age of 24 in 1967. She founded her eponymous fashion label in 1968. Although her first show in Paris in 1975 was not a success, the designer's refined take on minimalism ultimately proved popular. The designer's unconditional dedication to design combines elegance and purity with innovative materials and exceptional craftsmanship.
